It’s THAT time of year, friends. Time for:
best of 2016 posts.
Can I share a little secret with you?
I don’t like ANY of those things.
Let’s face it. Organizing is just no. fun. period. end of story.
Not that being messy IS fun. Truthfully being messy is no fun either. It’s stressful to lose one’s cell phone 87 times a week because your ability to organize could be likened to that of a pre-schooler doing calculus homework. NOT that I know, personally, of course.
Resolutions? They are also the pits.
Who really wants to resolve to do something that you KNOW in your heart of hearts you don’t really WANT to do, and have a 99% chance of failing to do within about 4 weeks of setting out to try to do it. Not THIS gal. The only resolution I care to make is NOT to resolve to change anything. If I happen to do something outstanding, that’s gravy. And if I don’t, well, I won’t feel extra bad about myself, you know?
And as for all these “best of” posts going around the blogosphere, well…
you know that YouTube video where the guy sits in his car…
and just watches people bust it on the ice? And you cannot help but to start laughing hysterically? Even though you know in your heart it’s SO WRONG to laugh at someone else’s pain? Well, today’s our lucky day, because we are all (myself included) going to LOL at MY pain. We’ll call it karma since I’m admitting to having laughed at that YouTube video.
Rather than counting down our (boatload) of AMAZING successes for 2016 (I still can’t find that damn eye roll emoji), we are going to share our lowest of lows. The posts you LOATHED. The ones that NOT EVEN MY MOTHER looked at. Waaaay more fun than a “best of” post, right? Let’s do this:
#5 Most Hated DIY Blog Post of 2016
Topping out at a WHOPPING 305 views, our round-up of animal print, fuzzy/furry goodness and cowhide was apparently did not deliver tidings of comfort nor joy to you guys this holiday season. Perhaps it was the cowhide? Not a very PC material, I suppose. I can understand that. Perhaps I didn’t make it obvious enough that the fur wasn’t REAL fur, and the animal prints were, in fact, just prints. Perhaps furry pom-pom hats are SO last year, and I didn’t get the memo? Well, whatever the cause, you guys hated this one, and I’m gonna say GREAT because maybe that little leopard print clutch in the bottom right of that collage up there is going to go on a MASSIVE sale since apparently no one else wants it. And then I’m gonna snatch it up like nobody’s business since nobody but nobody gave that to me this Christmas. #MoovingOn people.
#4 on the Suckfest Scale
Seriously guys? It’s BOOZE! How can a bunch of fun, fruity alcoholic beverages go wrong?! Well, apparently you guys are all cheap dates because only 244 of you cared to peruse our open bar. Since you guys don’t like liquor, I’m thinking I should invite everyone to a BIG OL party! It will be a CHEAP ONE with this crowd!! Shirley Temples ON THE HOUSE!
#3 in the Bottom of the Barrel DIY Blog Roll
These feathers flew absolutely NOWHERE. Seen by only 128 apparently SUPER bored souls, this sucker B.O.M.B bombed. I dunno. I mean, true, this is no stroke-o-genius concoction here, but I mean, it’s kinda cute, no? No. You’re right. The numbers don’t lie. Womp womp. Whatevs. Let’s continue.
#2 in the Countdown to Crappiest
Peaking (get it, it’s a ceiling post) at JUST over 100 views, yup, big time TRIPLE digits was our post about ceiling design ideas.
the biggest butt of all blogging jokes for 2016. Our #1 dog. Our deadbeat dud is —
JUST HOW BAD WAS IT?? 24 people. THAT’S how bad. According to Google analytics, this post received a sad, downtrodden, despairing 24 views. WOW. Perhaps a tad unconventional, but I didn’t think this project was horrendous. Well, no more plastic spoon crafting for THIS girl. I’m using my utensils for ice cream. And lots of it. I’ll be buried in Breyer’s for a while trying to get over these bombs-o-mine.
But frankly, with my whole disdain for resolutions issue, I think burying oneself in ice cream is EXACTLY what should happen right…about…NOW. Hope your 2017 is filled with many successes, lots of ice cream, and a broken resolution or two…makes things a little more fun 😉
