The early part of the year is when everyone seems to be organizing. Why? I don’t really know. And I can’t say I really do much of it myself. I think it must be because we’ve been so scattered and stressed during the last months of the year that when January and February roll in, it kind of feels like we’ve turned a new leaf. The whole new year, new you…new year new closet organization. New year, new office filing system. New year, new kitchen command center. And if there’s one place in the house that I DO sometimes feel the organizational itch, I’d have to say it’s the laundry room. Or in our house, it’s the laundry room/mudroom/foyer. That space does triple duty.
I gotta say, I’m pretty pumped to have a “mudroom” at all, to be honest. Our last room had nothing of the sort, despite the fact that we had a lot of mud. So, having anything at all feels great, at this point, even if the space was a bit dated when we moved in. I’ve shared it before, but here’s a refresher:
Complete with balloon valance. Sweet. And so we gave it a mini-makeover since there really hasn’t been room in the budget to do a whole heck of a lot in here to date. Have you seen it? Here’s a little corner of that room now…
If you want to see more of it, here’s the post. But this post isn’t really about my laundry room as much as it’s about a bunch of DIY laundry room, DIY mudroom and DIY foyer/entryway ideas from some of my favorite home bloggers.
