I know that design is going through a “stark” phase right now. There’s a lot of white out there. And although I love that look in some homes, in MY home, we are big lovers of COLOR.

Almost any room in our home could be an example of this, but here’s one for starters. Our basement.

In this space, most of the color came from fabrics. We opted for neutral, and mostly bright colors for the walls, the rug, etc. This is a DARK space without a lot of natural light, so brightening it up was important. But we went for a super glam “statement” sofa. Isn’t she a beauty?

And I LOVE when people make gutsy choices with their sofas. COLORFUL sofas. But often, I think people are a little scared to take the plunge on a purple sofa, or a green sofa or yellow sofa because of the investment. Sofas aren’t cheap, right?

Well, that’s true for the most part, but as I always remind my kids, where there is a will there’s a way. And I’ve found a way. About a dozen ways, actually. And I’m sharing them with you today.
