Shopping for flooring just got easier! Order a sample box delivered to your home in just 3-4 days for $12 from Flooring America…
It can be intimidating to design a room in your home. Often people have trouble figuring out where to start when doing a total overhaul. One option? Start from the ground up.
Flooring America recently rolled out a really quick, easy and convenient way to shop for flooring samples at home. No need to grab your mask, hand sanitizer, or hazmat suit to shop in a store right now.
You can scroll through beautiful tile, carpet, hardwood, vinyl and laminate flooring options from your sofa, and have up to 6 samples sent to your home within 2-3 business days for a flat rate of $12.
Want to know how easy it is to do? Let me walk you through the process now!
1. Browse Flooring Selection
Simply browse the flooring selection on the Flooring America homepage, as you can see me doing in the brief video below ⤵.
Use the filters to narrow down options for flooring that will work best for your project and lifestyle. Below, I’m shopping through their carpet section, and you can see that you’re able to filter for pets, waterproof carpets, etc.
2. Add flooring you like to your shopping cart.
Anything that you’re interested in, simply click “add sample to cart”. You’ll be asked for your zip code so that Flooring America will know which of their 500 independently-owned US retailers is closest to you.
You can have up to 6 flooring samples shipped to you per $12 box. Mix and match flooring types, or stick with one style if you already know for sure what you’re looking for.
Need more than 6 samples? You can have multiple sample boxes shipped.
3. Checkout. Your sample box will arrive in 2-3 business days.
Once you’ve added up to 6 samples to your cart, you’re ready to checkout!
If your experience is similar to ours, we got an email several hours after I submitted the order saying that our sample box was on the way.
4. Open your samples.
In under a week’s time, our sample box arrived.
5. Plan your makeover.
Now is when the fun can really begin! Along with your flooring samples, gather together other elements you are considering using in the space in order to start creating your mood board, or “vision” board.
My mood board is for a kitchen remodel we’ve been dreaming about here for the past 7 years, and we’re crossing 2021 will finally be the year!
Not really sure what to gather for your mood board? Here are some ideas to consider:
Ideas for items to incorporate in your inspiration board/mood board
- flooring samples
- countertop samples
- wallpaper samples
- paint chips
- drawer pulls
- fabric swatches
- inspiration pieces like photos, a natural element like a plant, flower, autumn leaf, piece of driftwood, etc.
- decor items that will be used in the space (photos, artwork, pillows)
Usually, I make mood boards on my computer. If you’re interested in learning more about creating that type of mood board, I have a really simple free guide that can help get you started 👉 Click here to grab your copy.
But sometimes, it’s nice to create a physical mood board that you touch. That’s especially helpful when you’re shopping for elements like flooring and counters where the texture is an important aspect of the space.
Flooring America Kitchen Mood Board #1:
I created two mood boards using my new flooring samples. The first is more of a black and white motif, with some pops of yellow.
For this board, I used Flooring America’s “Gate District” luxury vinyl, in color “Cool Water.” It’s a really pretty, cool-toned flooring, with great variations in color, giving it a lovely rustic feel.
Flooring America Kitchen Mood Board #2:
My second board, also for our kitchen remodel had many of the same elements.
Instead of a more monochrome palette, I chose some blue accents. For this board, I used Flooring America’s “Flordell Hills” luxury vinyl, in color “Canape”. This flooring also has some rustic quality, for sure. But the color is much warmer and a bit more uniform than the previous sample.
It’s really fun to be able to play around with samples like this. And it really helps, if you’re a visual person, to be able to see what are the best choices for your own home.
When shopping for flooring, being able to feel the sample is really important as well. If you’re in the market for new flooring in your home, these sample boxes make the decision process so much easier! Happy planning, shopping and renovating friend!!
