DIY chalkboard paint is easy, and GREAT for entertaining the kids…
We have three kids. And kids, at least OUR kids, love to *think* they are getting away with something. This is why God created chalkboard paint!
And this is also why we’ve latched on to chalkboard ideas and DIY chalkboard paint projects!
Check out more about our basement (seen below) here.

Truth be told, I loved a good DIY chalkboard paint project even before we had kids. In my first place, I proudly painted a prominent chalkboard wall in my kitchen, right by the wine fridge. That’s where I’d write my shopping list:
1. milk
2. bread
3. more wine for wine fridge…

After Dave and I got married, we bought another house, and we renovated the basement. Right around that same time, the newest member of the tribe arrived on the scene.
This was his first chalkboard wall…in a little nook under the stairs.

He loved it.

Then, we moved again. Another house, another DIY chalkboard paint project.

It was also a hit…
Surprise, surprise, we moved yet again, and this time, we thought, let’s skip the DIY chalkboard paint.
But, that thought didn’t last for long. We quickly went ahead and painted the chalkboard wall to end all chalkboard walls!

This sucker is 15′ long and 8′ tall. 120 square feet of graffiti-able heaven…any mischievous child’s dream.

And those sneaky little mischief-makers are having a blast.

That is really fun. We are in the process of building a home. I think I might need to consider a chalkboard wall somewhere.

I've always had chalkboard wall sections – never an entire wall and I have to tell you I absolutely LOVE this idea !
Even though my kids are grown I'd love one anyway – loaded with recipes – and friends thoughts etc
Fabulous idea !
