Sharing a SERIOUS Christmas card fail…
Before I show your our EPIC Christmas card fail, I just want to say this…
Two summers ago, we renovated a guest room. And I still really don’t know how finishing that room led to the start of all this. In the past 2.5 years, I’ve “met” so many wonderful people through this blog, that I otherwise would never have known.
Fellow DIY enthusiasts from Australia, design buffs from Utah, moms and grandmas from all over this nation, and several other nations, as well. There are woodworkers, upcyclers, sewing buffs, even some crafty types who all stop in and visit the nest each month.
It may seem like we are just a two-dimensional blog post on a screen to you, but we are here, in real life, reading every one of your comments, trying to answer every single question we are asked.
We relish those times when we get an email from you saying, “thanks for that tutorial,” or when you put a picture on our facebook page of the beautiful stairs you painted yourself after seeing ours.
Having left my former professional life as a doctor of physical therapy, I get down sometimes that this new gig of mine, talking DIY and decor isn’t really helping anyone like my former career so concretely could. So those little notes and gestures from you mean the world to me.
On behalf of our family, to all of yours…THANK YOU for being a part of this flock.
And because you all are gracious and kind enough to simply show up here at the nest from time to time, the proceeds from our site were able to fund the following donation, to a wonderful organization called Heifer International. On behalf of our flock The Heathered Nest has donated:
- 5 flocks of chicks
- 2 flocks of ducks
- and 1 flock of hope
(we asked about a partridge in a pear tree, but that was already sold out).
To learn more about Heifer International, or to make a donation of your own, simply click on the image above, or HERE.
And before I sign off, most likely til 2017, I wanted to share our family New Year’s card with you, (I know a “New Year’s card is kinda lame to those of us that celebrate Christmas…but this Mama did not have her act together to make the 12/24 deadline. So we are calling it a new year’s card instead which bought me an extra week (#score).
This card is pretty ironic. I try my best to send a witty card out to people EVERY year. Just as I busted the Christmas deadline this year, I also fell short on the traditional comedic card. Too busy, no creative juice, a combo deal…pick and excuse any excuse.
So it’s pretty funny that the one time I wasn’t even trying, this card turns out to be possibly the funniest we’ve ever sent. I’m hoping some of you won’t even “get” it. You’ll look and think nothing is amiss. But for those of you who do, I’m SORRY. I know it may be the world’s most irreverent holiday greeting EVER.
My apologies. But I couldn’t help but share it with you. It’s just too hilarious NOT to share this SERIOUS Christmas card FAIL.
And with that, in the words of Friedrich Von Trapp from The Sound of Music (one of my fave Christmas classics,) I’ll bid you adieu, adieu, to you and you and you.
Did you catch it?
