Supplies needed for these Easy Summer Door Wreaths from Cocktail Umbrellas:
- cocktail umbrellas– the one I used was 16″ diameter
- foam wreath form– the ones I used had canopies about 6″ across
How to Assemble Door Wreaths with Cocktail Umbrellas:
These cocktail umbrella door wreaths are embarrassingly easy to make. But I’ll take easy over hard any day, right? So here are the insanely easy instructions…
1.) Stick the cocktail umbrellas into the styrofoam wreath.
Aaaannnnd, that’s it. How’s that for easiest DIY project EVER?! I will give you a couple tips, just so I feel better about posting something this simple…so indulge me:
- remember that this will hang on a flat surface, so don’t insert umbrellas where they will cross over the side plane of the wreath, otherwise, those umbrellas will get crushed, and your wreath will hang funny.
- these door wreaths are very lightweight. I wouldn’t hang one in an area with a ton of wind…otherwise, you’ll end up with flying cocktail umbrellas. We mounted ours over our outdoor bar and use it mostly for parties. It’s not a wreath you’d hang outside all summer…it just won’t last.

- the cocktail umbrellas I used were really big. The canopies were about 5-6″ across. I think it might work even better with smaller ones if you can find them.
- to make these door wreaths more sturdy, you could hot glue them in place, or use some type of super glue on the ends of the cocktail umbrellas. I didn’t do that, but you certainly could.
