Mother’s Day gifts? unique gift ideas for any mom on your list!
We all know that our FAVORITE Mother’s Day gift this year is going to be the bud vase made from a toilet paper roll occupied by pipe cleaner and paper daisies.
Some of these items I already have or have used, and LOVE. Others are ones that I’ve added to my own Mother’s Day wishlist. *This post contains affiliate links. Please read our full disclosure policy HERE.*Please read our full disclosure policy HERE.*
But if your significant other has maybe asked you for another idea, as well…or, if you want to just hit up Mommy’s slush fund and BYOG (buy your own gift), I have some great ideas for ALL of us.
Hopefully, you’ll find something that you’ll love, or another Mommy in your life will love, too! And if you have any of these items yourself and want to share your thoughts on that/those items with our clan, please leave a comment with your honest review!!
Drybar gift card (have it)
This is the gift I ask for at every single holiday. And I love it. If you’re not familiar with Drybar, they have them all over the country now, and they do blowouts.
So if you have a special event coming up, or a date night, or just don’t feel like taking the time to do your own hair (guilty), you can make an appointment with a click or two on their website, and go in for a blowout.
You’ll sit in a chair sipping some wine or tea, and treat yourself to some primping while watching a chick-flick (which they ALWAYS have on). It’s a little slice of heaven if you ask me.
beachy-keen clutch (made my own version of it)
Isn’t she lovely? Nope, I don’t own one. But I definitely want one of these beachy beauties. Isn’t it a great, summery clutch? I made a DIY version of this straw bag, if you want to check it out.
blue ticking beach cover blue ticking beach cover (want it)
A good cover up can be hard to find. I’m loving this one by Stella & Dot.
Roomba (have it)
This was a BYOG (buy your own gift) for me this Christmas, and I gotta tell you, I’m SO glad I bought one! We got the base model (there are other more expensive options), and while it doesn’t pick up 100% of the gunk that constantly graces my floors, I’d say it gets 85%.
And that’s good enough for me since this sucker saves me a lot of time and energy each week. It will roll right over your throw rugs (at least it does mine) without a hitch. And it catches itself before careening off steps or other obstacles in the house. It’s pretty darn fantastic. HIGHLY recommend.
Lilly Pulitzer palazzo pants (have them)
I’m pretty thrifty, as a general rule. But I will dish out the dough for a good pair of Lilly pants ANYTIME. Why? Because they are SO fun, but waaaaay beyond the fun, they are super flattering, and THE MOST comfortable pants I own. For real. At this point in my mom-life, I’m beginning to see why my own Mom always drove me crazy by saying she just wanted to be comfortable.
I get it. I’m a sweats and yoga pants over jeans girl. And these pants are so sneaky because they look really fashionable, but secretly, they are just like those old sweats of your husband’s that you prefer to wear 95% of the time…or is that just me?
Lilly comes out with new varieties of these all the time, and I own at least 3-4 pair…and I love them all.
Sparkling Water-Maker – Home Carbonation System (want it)
I drink flavored seltzer water all day, every day. For a while, I used a Soda Stream machine, and finally gave up on the thing because I felt like I plowed through the cartridges, and exchanging them was a TOTAL pain. They were never in stock anywhere, and I felt like they cost a lot of $$. Especially since you could never gauge how much CO2 you had used in the tank.
I felt like I was kind of getting taken, to be honest. So I’m looking into buying this brand, instead. It cost less than the Soda Stream, but you have to use a new cartridge for each use. I’ve read a bunch of reviews though and it sounds like overall, it’s cheaper than the Soda Stream, and people have given it good comments, overall.
If you have one and can chime in on your experience with this brand, or others, let me know!!! I LOVE La Croix, but I’m spending my children’s college savings purchasing water each month. I need an alternative!
Hilarious racerback (want it)
No explanation needed. This shirt was made for me. You too?
Hilarious t-shirt #2 (want it)
This t-shirt has been on my radar for a while…what can I say, it speaks to me. I think it’s the perfect shirt to wear while driving the grocery getter, right?
pressure cooker (want it)
I’m not a food blogger. I’m not a pro in the kitchen. But I do cook, and I do love making healthy, good food at home. I have a couple of food boards that I’m constantly pinning new recipes to, and I feel like recipes that require pressure cookers are popping up everywhere.
And they sound like super helpful appliances to have since they cook meals so much quicker than if prepared by other means. So, I’ve added a pressure cooker to my wishlist, and this particular one had more reviews, and overwhelmingly positive reviews than any others I saw out there. Do you have one? Do you love it??
Jessica Simpson ballet flatsJessica Simpson ballet flats (have them)
Saw these on one of my favorite fashion blogger’s sites, and had to try them out. I LOVE them. I wear these fun little ballet flats with EVERYTHING from sundresses to sweats. Seriously. They are cute, yet don’t kill my feet like heels do nowadays. They’re another fashion cheat for us Moms who want to be comfy, but still cool 😉
Omega Lambda Delta co-ed fraternity t-shirt (have it)
GET IT?! One of my college besties’ hubs actually is the founder of this co-ed fraternity. He came up with the idea one weekend when a big group of our friends were visiting our alma mater for a football game. We were sitting together at one of our favorite dive bars in town. He looked around, and we were all laughing about being the oldest people at the bar. That’s where Omega Lambda Delta was born…
O – L -D
? Yep. OLD. And now you can join our co-ed frat, too. No need to rush, or endure hazing of any sort. If you’re old, you’re in. We wear these shirts anywhere and everywhere, and if you’re cool enough to get the joke, you’re definitely part of our crew. Wear these letters with pride, people. We earned them.
Wicked one-piece swimsuit (have it)
Truth in advertising alert: that photo is NOT me. But I DO own this swimsuit, and I do love it (2018 edit: this exact suit is sold out, but I’ve linked to the latest version of the same suit, which is VERY similar). Which is saying a lot. As a general rule, I don’t love swimsuits. Period. I’m only 5’3″ and I feel like most of the time, whenever I try on one-pieces, they make me look even shorter and squattier than I already am.
I haven’t worn a one piece (tankinis AKA the classic “mom” swimsuit excluded) since I was a kid. I’ve just never found one that was flattering. But when I saw this one at Addison’s Wonderland blog, I decided I’d give it a try. And I really do love it. So if you’re in the market for a new suit this season, give this one a try! Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns now, so there’s minimal risk should you loathe it. But hopefully you’ll have the same reaction I did!
Clutch little carpet back clutch (made my own version of it)
This adorable little bag from Stella & Dot is one of the reasons I made my own little DIY version. I made my own little DIY version. But if you don’t have the time, energy, or know-how to go the DIY route, I think this little lady is pretty picture perfect. I’m a sucker for bags and shoes that are a little unique, and this one definitely fits the bill, doesn’t it?
Happy Mother’s Day to all you wonderful moms!!
