2019 Holiday of Homes Tour…
Welcome home! Today is the final day of the 2019 Holiday of Homes tour hosted by Christy and Amy of 11 Magnolia Lane and Jenny from Evolution of Style.

Our family is so happy to be a part of the tour this year. Although being one of the last slated to give you a tour after a full week of what have been AMAZING holiday decorating posts is a bit daunting, to say the least.
If you are coming here from Jenny’s tour at Evolution of Style and this is the first time you’ve been to our nest, welcome! The next stop after ours is Shand’s home from Quarter’s One…and you won’t want to miss it!
Come on in to our place and I’ll show you around!

Here’s a picture of our family. I’m Heather. Dave and I have three kids, ages 12, 11 and 8.

We usually don’t look that put together.
If you’d like to know a little more about our backstory, feel free to check out our “about us” page, here.
Today the tours are focusing on bedrooms decked for the holidays. And I’ll be sharing our master suite 🛌.
To see the full tour lineup, scroll down toward the bottom of the page.

Giving a bedroom tour meant that I had to actually pick up the mounts of laundry off the floor, and dust. YES. I dusted for you.

Maybe in your home dusting isn’t as much of a momentous occasion, but around here, we only dust for royal visits. And you can imagine how often those happen (hint: begins with an “n” and ends with an “ever”).

The bedroom in these shots is mine and Dave’s. It’s come a long way since we bought this home in 2013. Here’s what it looked like once upon a time…

Now let me show you the rest of the master suite. Off the bedroom is our master bathroom.

I don’t do a whole lot of decorating in here, but I’ll at least do a little something, like throwing a wreath on our linen closet door with some vintage skates or putting a little tree somewhere.

Just for kicks and giggles let me show you a picture of this bathroom BEFORE.

We consumed a closet next to the old bathroom to increase the size, moved plumbing, added a new window and a ton of other stuff. It was a 100% DIY project, and took WAAAAAY too long to complete!
To read more about that adventure, check out this master bathroom reveal post.
The last stop in the master suite is the love of my home-life. Our dressing room. This used to be a random, kind of useless space. It sits behind the main part of our bedroom, and over our garage. And it was inaccessible to the rest of the house.
We had a couple of choices. Dave wanted an office. I wanted a dressing room. After years of marital “discussion”, I’d like to think we both won ;).

To see another post about the transformation of this dressing room space, click that link ⬅️. I use this space as my “wrapping station” during the holidays.
There’s also a small dormer area toward the back of the room. That’s where I store a lot of my shoes and bags…

I’m so glad you also shared your bathroom and dressing room/closet because I can promise that those are two of the best rooms on the internet! Big props to you guys for tackling two huge DIY projects and executing them flawlessly. Merry (early) Christmas, Heather, and thanks so much for touring with us again this year!
