While I was searching for Christmas wrapping ideas to include in “71 Christmas Wrapping Ideas that will WOW” I came across “mini eco“. There, blogger Kate made awesome word search wrapping paper for birthdays using puzzlemaker.com. It’s an awesome website that will create customized word search puzzles for FREE!
Since it’s almost Christmas, I thought it would be fun to create a Christmas word search wrapping paper to share!
I’m going to include the list of words I used to create my Christmas word search. Feel free to copy and paste these into the puzzle generator. Or, you can create your own list of words! Your choice.
How to Make Christmas Word Search Free Printable Wrapping Paper:
1.) Go to the puzzlemaker website.
You can create puzzles using this site as large as 50 rows and 50 columns. For this tutorial, I created (2) sizes for our wrapping paper: 8.5″x11″ and 11″x17″ as those are the most standard paper sizes for home computer printers.
You can certainly look at creating even larger puzzles and having them professionally printed. If you do that, then this paper would be even more practical since it would wrap larger packages.
2.) Input the desired words for your Christmas word search.
To make this as simple as possible, I’m including the words I used to create my searches below. Feel free to simply copy and paste them into the puzzle generator!
You can also add words to make your word search a bit easier. Or alternatively, subtract to make the puzzle more challenging.
Here is the Christmas word search list for an 8.5″x11″ piece of paper:
*Settings for a letter-sized page of wrapping paper are: COLUMNS=20 & ROWS=24.
Here is the Christmas word search list for an 11″x17″ piece of paper:
*Settings for a legal-sized page of wrapping paper are: COLUMNS=31 & ROWS=40

2.) Print and wrap.
With your words inputted into the puzzle generator and the appropriate number of columns and rows selected for your desired paper size, all that’s left to do is print your paper and start wrapping!
As we’re working with letter and/or legal sized pieces of wrapping paper, clearly you won’t be able to wrap Jimmy’s new bike with this stuff. But this wrapping paper will definitely work for smaller gifts like jewelry boxes, DVD’s, books, a card game, ornaments, etc.
Hope that you like this fun Christmas word search wrapping paper idea!! It’s an easy way to wrap gifts for the holiday that’s both fun, and really cost-effective!
