Colorful DIY Christmas Tree Pom Pom Decorations

Easy pom pom decorations for your tree or a winter wonderland display…

Our finest gifts we bring pa rum pum pom pom. Oh yeah, I did just work pom pom into a song. And a Christmas one, at that. Because these pom pom decorations are puffy, pink and perfect for your Christmas tree this year. Or someone else’s as a gift!

These pom pom decorations add SO much fun to our colorful rainbow-themed Christmas tree that we put up this year. And they aren’t hard to make.

Just a couple supplies, and about 15-20 minutes of time, and they’ll be ready to hang on the tree, or set out in a tabletop Christmas display. Here’s what you’ll need to get crafting:

How to assemble DIY pom pom decorations

1. Apply heavy duty spray adhesive & secure pom poms.

This project is very straightforward. Shake the spray adhesive before you begin. Gorilla Glue Heavy Duty Spray Adhesive is such an awesome product. I hadn’t ever used it until we recently made these really festive DIY tomato cage Christmas trees, and am hooked on this stuff!

Not only is it heavy-duty, but this spray adhesive sprays evenly without going places you don’t want it to go, but it also bonds really strongly when dry. And once you situate what you’re gluing, you can still reposition it for up to 10 minutes before it’s completely set.

It dries clear without yellowing. And it bonds to all kinds of materials from glass to wood, styrofoam, paper, leather and even metal.

Spray a couple of inches worth of area at a time. Allow the spray adhesive to cure for about 10-30 seconds before starting to adhere the pom poms to the ornaments.

Rubber gloves are helpful during the process to avoid getting glue on your hands.

Once you’ve secured a section of pom poms onto the ornament, spray another small section and continue gluing the pom poms.

2. Spray interior of the ornament with a layer of spray adhesive.

Once the exterior of your ornament is covered with pom poms and you’ve allowed them a few minutes to dry, it’s time to spray a thin, even layer of glue on the inside of the ornament.

Once you’ve allowed the glue to cure for about half a minute, grab a piece of Tupperware and your glitter.

Sprinkle glitter inside the ornament and shake it around a bit to make sure the whole interior of the ornament is covered.

Shake out the excess glitter into the Tupperware (so you can save it for another craft).

3. Insert interior ornament or decoration.

Remove ornament top from the globe. Insert the item you’ve chosen to use as your interior ornament into the glittered and pom pom decorated globe.

Pull the string or ribbon from the interior ornament through the open top of your pom pom globe and replace top of globe. Knot the interior ornament’s ribbon so it stays put and cut excess string.

4. It’s time to hang or display your pom pom decorations!

I like to insert some fairy lights into the globe (either a strand of battery-operated lights). Or if you hang it on the tree, you can open the top of the ornament up, and stick on of the tree lights inside,

so that the globe is illuminated from within! It gives it a beautiful, sparkly, warm glow.
