Great tile, easy to work and affordable!
We’re Tilin’
Perhaps not horribly “dumpty”, but definitely dated. This post includes affiliate links. Please see my full disclosure policy HERE.* Our goal was to scab together a reasonable baño on a 2k budget.
So far, we’re sticking to our plan pretty well. Thanks in part to leaving the tub/tub surround in place, and just updating it with Rust-Oleum’s Tub and Tile Refinishing Kit.
Last week, when we left you, we were building out the wall for the pocket door that is going between the sink area and the water closet.
And it’s pretty much completed now. See that door? I was thrilled to find it, and it’s currently undergoing a facelift. Speaking of Humpty Dumpty, this door really did take a great fall while it was being painted.
One of the original panes of glass busted into millions of tiny little pieces. Shattered. Me probably more so than the glass. That little project’s now, unfortunately, a bit bigger.
On the subject of “big”, there’s our old bathroom scale hard at work now. Damn thing. Kept shouting these unfriendly numbers at me. So I decided to ex-communicate him.
He’s been sent to a work camp in the garage where he helps us measure out grout and does other jobs where he can’t offend people anymore. It’s a win-win.
Oh, and that? Well, sure, it may look like a little kids scooter, but in this house, it’s usually the dolly.
Oh, and this tile. It’s screamin’ “yo world I hope you’re ready for me. Gather round, I’m the new tile in town, and my sounds laid down by the Underground”. Actually, it’s “sound” was laid down by ME.
Proof in picture above. I adore how unique this faux wood porcelain tile is (although I’m sure not EVERYONE will be a fan), but the price tag is is what sold us (so NOT expensive).
It’s like…
I’m crazy
Allow me to amaze thee
Some say I’m ugly but it really don’t phase me..
Our bath’s gone from Dumpty to funky, Humpty-dancin’ spunky. See you next week! And until then, peace and humptiness forever.
P.S.A. MOM…if you’re not “down” with this post, google “Humpty Dance” by Digital Underground. Just wanted to help you out.
