Did you have to reroute the plumbing to move the refrigerator? We have the same exact set up with our fridge on the wall that separates the living room and kitchen. I have been DYING to tear that wall down. I know that it’s not load bearing but my hubs is certain that to move the fridge we will be out thousands because the plumbing would have to be rerouted. I want to DIY this wall Reno and he’s like “ it’s a $15k job!” Found your home while searching for something completely different! Fate? I am sure of it!
Heather says
Hi Lacey! We eventually DID have to move the water line so that the fridge ice maker/water dispenser would work, but we just left it undone for a while, until we were ready to take that project on. In our situation, it wasn’t awful because the kitchen sits above an unfinished part of the basement, so it was pretty simple to move the line.
Heather Thibodeau says
Hey Lacey, we DID have to move a water line over to the new fridge location, but because the basement ceiling was open underneath, it wasn’t a big deal at all, but I know that could vary greatly in other people’s homes.
