Easy 1-minute pumpkin craft idea…
Fall is coming. And that makes it pumpkin craft time! Plus Halloween costume time, fall leaves time, allll the apple and cinnamon scented things you could dream of time, etc.
But truthfully? I don’t have my act together to tackle all-the-things quite yet. Not that that is in any way shocking. But fall is my favorite season. And Halloween is one of my FAVORITE holidays, so typically, I *attempt* to go all out.
This year, I just don’t have the desire though to deal with hauling the 72 boxes of knick-knacky-ghost-and-ghouly junk out of storage only to have to re-pack it all up again a couple of weeks later.
I yield. I’m waving the ghostly white flag. But I am doing a teensy, weensy little bit. I don’t have it in me to bail completely. So this is what I did.
I got the tiniest, most inexpensive pumpkins in the patch this year, and made them into a one-minute pumpkin craft in the form of table setting place cards.
Here’s a quick video synopsis of our quick and easy pumpkin craft…
Chalkboard Pumpkin Craft Video Tutorial
Know how much time this little pumpkin craft takes? About one minute. TOTAL. Thirty seconds to paint it (then you gotta wait for it to dry), then another thirty (if you’re really slow at writing) to write a name on it.
Call me a super-duper-over-achieving-go-getter, but this craft is RIGHT up my alley. Easy, quick, and cheap. A trifecta of perfect-ness.
Pumpkin Craft Place Card Supplies
- chalkboard paint either paint on OR spray paint variety
- foam craft brush (don’t have one? just use ANY brush…or slap it on with your fingers, seriously, don’t overthink it) OR use the spray paint version
- pumpkin (real or faux)
- chalk (just your garden variety is fine…but if you wanna get uber crafty, try a chalk pen…they work really well)
Pumpkin Craft Place Card How To
I’m almost embarrassed to spell this out for you guys because it’s so easy. But here it goes.
1. Open paint.
Phew, that’s a tough one.
2. Brush on paint with a brush or, opt for chalkboard spray paint.
You could get fancy and pencil out a fun shape on the pumpkin if you want.
I didn’t have the time or energy for that, so I slapped it on…you can even see where the paint dripped on down the side of the pumpkin…whatevs.
3. Let the paint dry.
Watch it dry if you need a break from life (it’s therapeutic).
4. Use your chalk and write those names.
Again, for you fancy folk, use a stencil or what-have-you. Or use my method and just write it willy-nilly if you want to continue to half-ass (sorry for the language) this project.
That’s it!
Since it’s chalkboard paint, you can change the names as many times as you need!!
