Ahhh it’s demo day in our kids’ bathroom. Demo day is one that all DIYers love more than all those that follow (with the exception of “reveal” day, AKA OMG I can’t believe we’ve FINALLY finished this #$%@ project day)!
The project at hand is our DIY bathroom. Our kids’ bathroom, to be exact. And to recap, here’s where we started…
But this week, week 3…we’re gettin’ into the good stuff…
It’s demolition time for this DIY bathroom project.
It’s cathartic to wreck stuff.
And then put it back together…with wine and Chinese food on a Friday night. Oh yeah, that’s good livin’ folks.
Besides drinking in this shot, we’re framing out what will be the new pocket door into the water closet. It had been a regular swinging door, but that was waaay intrusive in this small space.
The other thing we’re working on this week is lighting. We’ve got A LOT of lighting going into this DIY bathroom, and here is one of them. It’s gonna be a gooseneck barn light, reminiscent of the old gas station lights.
I bought it in white so that I could spray it the exact color I needed. In this case, hunter green…which turns out is kind of hilarious because they sell one that’s almost exactly identical, so I could have saved myself some work, but why take the easy road, right?!
AND, I found the vintage suitcase!!!
Isn’t she lovely? Remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder (wink, wink).
And I have fun plans for this beauty!
I gotta get back to my glass of vino, and I suppose the renovations, too. Wait til you see the tile we’ve picked out…I can hardly wait!! Til next week, Ciao!
